Trenton is one of New Jersey‘s largest cities and has several major medical facilities and dozens of long-term nursing and rehabilitation centers, creating an ongoing need for Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs). The New Jersey Department of Health-Division of Health Facilities Evaluation and Licensing-Certification Unit is located in Trenton. This is the agency that approves CNA training programs as meeting federal and state requirements. Certified nursing assistants in New Jersey frequently use their training as entry into a healthcare career with plans to pursue additional education at a later time.
CNA Education in Trenton
Certified Nurse Aide classes in Trenton are offered at a variety of educational facilities that include a training institute, a community college, a medical technical school and an academy. If local CNA classes are full at the time an individual person wants to enroll, there are additional programs available throughout Mercer County in which Trenton is located. Nurse Aide students can also train in a state-approved nursing home or a hospital unit that provides long-term nursing care.
It is important to only complete a state-approved CNA program. The reason is that the student will get the classroom and clinical skills training needed to qualify to take the NJ State Certified Nursing Assistant competency exam when CNA training is completed. The state-approved training programs also ensure students learn how to safely, accurately and knowledgeably utilize common CNA skills once employed.
